    I think you're so brave

    I think you’re so brave.

    I think you’re so brave for getting up this morning.

    I think you’re so brave for asking for help when it all gets too much.

    I think you’re so brave for slowing down when you’re overwhelmed.

    I think you’re so brave to admit that you’re not happy.

    I think you’re so brave for letting go.

    I think you’re so brave when all you can do is collapse on the floor and cry.

    I think you’re so brave when you forgive yourself because we all make mistakes and mess up.

    I think you’re so brave for starting again.

    I think you’re so brave when you refuse to let life, labels and trauma define you.

    I think you’re so brave because even when life knocks you down, you get back up and keep going.

    How to be brave

    “Be brave” were the last words my dad ever said to me almost 10 years ago. I thought I knew what that meant.

    We often think of bravery as these life changing, huge acts that take place when bravery can be found even in what seems like the smallest of things.

    Letting yourself collapse on the floor uncontrollably crying because you can barely hold it together. The bravery in allowing yourself to feel and move through the motions.

    Admitting to yourself whilst you pretend to be happy and your life looks good on paper, acknowledging the truth that resides in your soul. That you aren’t fulfilled. The bravery is defying societal expectations and listening to your truth, your heart.

    Reaching out to a friend even though you feel bad and guilty because you’re struggling. You’re allowed to desire love and support, you’re human. The bravery in asking for what you need instead of feeling ashamed for it.

    Be brave in all moments, it counts.

    Be brave because life isn’t easy, yet you’re giving it your best go and showing up, that counts.

  • Turning pain into purpose

    On pain...

    There isn’t a minimum when it comes to pain and suffering. 

    You don’t have to hit a certain amount or for for it to feel a certain way to qualify for something.

    How you feel is completely valid no matter what anyone else says or some text book definition.

    You don’t have to keep it to yourself and go through your experience alone.

    You don’t have to outwardly show signs of distress to seek help.

    You don’t have to feel bad comparing your experience to another.

    You aren’t weak for feeling this way and people don’t think less of you.

    You are a human being.

    You’re understandably allowed to seek a way to move through it all.

    You are loved beautiful soul.

    More on suffering...

    You don’t have to measure how much pain and suffering you’re going through, you don’t have to show your pain and suffering.

    Pain and suffering is so unique to each individual – there’s no uniform look or symptoms.

    Your pain and suffering is valid no matter what.

    I hope you know that you’re allowed to process it in your own way.

    I hope you know that you’re allowed to process it in your own timeline.

    I hope you know that you’re allowed to do it on your terms.

    I know it feels...

    Beautiful soul, I know it feels like you’ll break from the weight of the world on your shoulders and the heavy ache of your heart.

    I know it feels like you wish you could rip your heart out and not feel every ounce of pain.

    I know it feels like you’re sick of crying, it is as if the tears will never end.

    Better days are coming...

    Some days will be harder than others and that’s okay.

    Some days will feel heavier than others and that’s okay.

    Some days pain and suffering will convince you that it will last forever.

    It won’t.

    Better days are coming beautiful soul.

    They always do.

    It may take time, but it’s always worth the wait.

    The light will trickle back in.

    Your heart will mend piece by piece.

    You’ll remember why you love life so much in the first place.

    Rainbows always like to hide behind storms and clouds.

    Your tears will water the flowers blossoming in the seams of your soul.

    You’ll look back at this time thinking that life has buried you, when really you’ve been planted to bloom.

    You’ll look back at this time, in awe of your strength and beaming with pride for yourself.

    You’ll look back at this time and realise that you wouldn’t change a thing, because everything unfolded the way it was meant to, for your highest growth always.

    Facing your emotions

    I hope hard moments and days don’t convince you that you have a bad life or that the good ones aren’t coming because they are.

    Beautiful soul, life’s only constant is the rollercoaster and waves. The ups and the downs. It’s okay to not have every day be so happy, exciting and soul fulfilling. It’s more than okay because it’s human.

    I know you have days where you feel so much suffering you can’t even put how you feel into words.

    I know you have days where you question if you’ll make it through because you’ve just had enough.

    I know you have days where you feel like a fool for thinking better days are coming (you aren’t because they are).

    I know because I’ve been there too🤍

    As they say if you feel like you’re losing everything, remember that trees lose their leaves every year and yet they still stand tall and wait for the better days to come 🌳

    Eventually it will all make sense.

    Eventually those better days will be here, right now and you’ll smile looking back knowing it all happened the way it was meant to be.

    They are coming, just because you can’t see them or feel it doesn’t mean that they aren’t.

  • Making moves

    Taking action

    You know what’s better than thinking about doing something for 15 minutes or even 5 years?

    Actually doing it.

    Out of your mind and into the present

    🥴 yes I am calling you out… I’m calling you out to get out of your mind and into the present moment here.

    It’s the biggest thing I see with clients.

    They spend sooooo much time in their mind.

    Going over scenarios.

    Preparing for different outcomes.

    Reading a tonne of information.

    Listening to a tonne of information.

    Watching all of the videos and content.

    Yet no one is actually doing anything with the data and information they’ve accumulated 🥴

    Embodiment > Knowledge.

    Here’s the thing too, so many people are in fear.

    They don’t want to do something because it won’t be perfect.

    They don’t want to do something because they’re unsure.

    They don’t want to something because they don’t want to fail.

    So they don’t move. They just stay still and stuck. Even though their mind is looping around for miles and miles.

    If you actually DO something and take INSPIRED ACTION whatever the outcome at least you moved ⚡️

    And so then new data and information to make your next move.

    Not rocket science but pure simplicity (but the mind likes to complicate 😅)

    When in doubt, DO SOMETHING! ANYTHING!

    Nothing changes…. If nothing changes.

    Here’s to making moves (because even if you “go backwards or fail” at least you’re moving and it’ll likely propel you into the right direction 🚀)

  • Overcoming negativity…

    The truth...

    Truth bomb.

    You’ll never stop having negative thoughts.

    Just because you have them doesn’t mean you have to believe them.

    Negative thoughts are OKAY

    It’s OK to have negative thoughts – yes you read that correctly.

    Negative thoughts are natural and it’s unlikely to ever stop no matter how happy or successful you are or how much you meditate and do mindset work.

    The vibe isn’t never having negative thoughts.

    The vibe is having them and being confident within yourself to overcome them (literally what I teach in 1:1 coaching).

    It’s futile to try and stop them they’re like waves no matter what you’ll do they’ll keep coming back.

    Remember what you resist will persist…

    Just because you have a thought doesn’t make that automatically true (although that would be useful because that means I’m the new owner of 2 cute puppies, $10 million is being deposited into my bank account, I’m going on a never ending holiday… you get the point 😜)

    The thing about power

    Here’s the thing about power.

    It’s EASY to be powerful when everything is going your way based on your desires and expectations.

    True power though?

    Is holding your vision and your power when everything isn’t going your way.

    When it feels like everything is going wrong.

    When everything starts to crumble.

    When you start losing everything.

    When you want to give up and just cry.

    When no one believes in you.

    When you are left standing alone.

    When your mind convinces you that it isn’t happening and won’t ever happen for you.

    When you’re being thrown into the deep end with challenge after challenge.

    When everything is confusing, disheartening and to be honest, really hard.

    That’s power.

    Not giving up on yourself when quite frankly, it would be easy to.

    You are already powerful

    What I’ve learnt about power after coaching women and men of all ages around the world.

    I’m going cut through the bull that’s out there and go straight 🎯

    YOU ARE ALREADY POWERFUL.

    No matter what has happened.

    You’ve made mistakes.

    You’re not making money.

    You’ve lost everything.

    Because the power is ALWAYS and ALREADY inside of you 💥

    At times it’s hidden and drowned out by negative self talk and layers of conditioning and programming.

    Hello beautiful soul!

    So May is Mental Health Month in many countries which confused me because apparently Australia is October but anyway in honour of that and the fact that mental health day should be every day I want to speak about toxic positivity.

    What is toxic positivity?

    Toxic positivity masquerades itself as being positive when really it’s the completely opposite.

    It’s the belief and attitude that no matter what is happening you should always be happy and have positive thoughts.

    Hello! We are humans, we are souls having a human experience.

    To be human means to feel on the full spectrum all emotions deeply.

    We aren’t robots programmed to only feel a certain way and only have certain types of thoughts. 

    This overly optimistic state denies, minimises and invalidates the human experience.

    The subconscious mind and toxic positivity

    In our subconscious minds based on largely social conditioning and our programming that life is black and white.

    Positive = good. Negative = bad.

    This is largely too simple and negates the shades of grey between.

    Toxic positivity quotes

    I love these quotes which encapsulates everything nicely when it comes to toxic positivity.

    “I’d rather be whole than good.”

    “Positive thinking is a coping mechanism, an automatic coping mechanism. It is void of life. Feeling and experiencing the realness of what is actually happening are the essences of being alive. Feeling, connecting, reacting to the flow-- this is all living. Positive thinking happens in the head, meanwhile, it denies the heart its authentic, genuine feelings. Not only does it have the potential to rob you of real and deeper connection which is ultimately necessary to living a passionate and compassionate life; but it even has the potential to cut you off from reality itself. A mask that you put on your face, other people's faces, and throw over everything around you. We do not become positive by refusing to be real. We become positive people by really living, really feeling, and really rising above anything that would threaten to sink us. You can't even see what threatens to sink you if you refuse to acknowledge that it's even there. Why did Titanic sink? Someone refused to see the icebergs.”

    I've been a source of toxic positivity and you probably have too...

    It’s ok not to be ok. You are not alone and someone out there is wanting and ready to help you.

    I’m known as the positivity queen too and I am certainly not happy all the time. Positivity is my attitude – it’s knowing that no matter what happens I can find the silver lining, I can learn and I can grow which is my lens of positivity. 

    I’ve definitely been guilty of saying things like “it could be worse” or “try be positive” and you may have to.

    Bring awareness to toxic positivity

    I wasn’t aware it could make someone feel worse.

    The beauty of awareness is that you have the power to change.

    You have the power of consciousness!

    What are the signs of toxic positivity?

    • Using blanket positive statements like “good vibes only here” or “be happy”
    • Not listening and validating someone’s experience and jumping to your experience “you’ll get over it”
    • Shaming someone for not feeling happy or positive
    • Avoiding your own emotions that you label negative – for you to see negativity in someone else you must recognise it in yourself otherwise how would you know?
    • Hiding how you truly feel about something

    What happens as a result of toxic positivity?

    People feel ashamed of their emotions and feel invalidated.

    When you are overly positivity and pushing positivity on someone else it can seem insincere to the other person.

    They don’t want to be and show their true selves so they become inauthentic, hiding or creating a persona to the world.

    This can lead to surprising emotions which leads to increased stress in the body which can sometimes even be stored energetically in the body.

    Additionally when we aren’t able to feel our feelings it prevents us from growing. It can keep us stuck in hurt, pain and anxiety. 

    Challenging feelings can ultimately lead to greater growth because we learn from them.

    How to avoid being a source of toxic positivity?

    Be aware and conscious with your language.

    For example instead of saying “you’ll get over it” you can say something along the lines of “It sounds like you’re going through a tough time. I believe in you”. 

    Can you feel the difference in the energy there?

    Substitute “don’t be so negative” to “it’s okay to not be okay sometimes.”

    “Think happy thoughts” becomes “I love you and I am here for you.”

    “It could be worse” to “Life has its ups and downs. How can I best support you?”

    “You shouldn’t feel bad or negative” to “We experience a full spectrum of emotions in life and that’s okay.”

    The influence of social media on toxic positivity

    I would also add to this to remember about celebrities, pop culture and social media that is isn’t 110% real. Most of what we see online is someone’s highlights reel which is carefully curated. It’s not reality and ironically reality TV isn’t real either.

    I’m sure you can relate, I’ve definitely been hurting after a break up and posting photos and stories looking all happy when deep down I was sad.

    Perhaps you’re going through a hard time and post throwback photos or stalk an ex or someone you used to date when really you are nostalgic for past happier times.

    What if I’m the negative person?

    We have all and will continue to experience negativity in our lives. It doesn’t make you a negative person it makes you a human experiencing negativity.

    If the negativity is overwhelming reach out to your doctor, a mental health expert or even a life coach such as myself. I work with many clients to get them unstuck and out of their negative self talk.

    My tips are:

    Allow yourself to be negative because you are human. Bring awareness to your emotions. What is the negativity label about an experience, circumstance or person in your life revealing to you?

    It’s okay to feel a mix of emotions again we aren’t robots set to one default emotion. You can be happy and sad at the same time.
