What are the north node and south node? Astrology, spiritual growth, karma and destiny
Hello beautiful soul, wow of all dates 11/1 or 1/11 depending where you live what is unfolding is huge collective change karmically and in terms of our destiny. An 18.5 month chapter complete in Aries and Libra it is now Pisces and Virgo. This is all to do with what we call destiny markers what I say to simplify or the technical astrological terminology of the North and South Nodes, also known as the lunar nodes, are points where the Moon’s orbit intersects the Earth’s orbit around the Sun.
They represent the soul’s journey, with the South Node indicating past-life tendencies, comfort zones, and habits you’re meant to outgrow, while the North Node points to your soul’s purpose, growth, and the qualities you’re meant to develop in this lifetime. These points are not physical celestial bodies but carry deep spiritual significance, offering insight into karmic lessons and your ultimate path of evolution. We have collective ones as well as individual ones.

To find out your own individual energy, look into your astrological natal chart for placements in Pisces and Virgo for this new chapter and previously reflect upon the 18.5 month chapter that is closing on Aries and Libra. Personally I am so excited as someone with a Pisces moon. Pisces is known for feeling deeply so to have that on a collective level and leaning more into intuition, the spiritual, the woo thats chefs kiss for me.
Aries North Node Libra South Node 2023-2025
For the past 18.5 months, the Aries North Node has encouraged individuals and the collective to step into their independence, courage, and self-leadership. This energy has been about embracing bold action, taking risks, and prioritising personal desires and passions. It’s been a time of self-discovery, pushing past fears of conflict or rejection, and learning to assert oneself unapologetically. Aries has asked us to break free from codependency, release hesitation, and trust in our ability to carve our own paths, even when the way forward is uncertain. Themes of empowerment, resilience, and standing firmly in your truth have been at the forefront.
Meanwhile, the Libra South Node has highlighted the need to release unhealthy people-pleasing, reliance on others for validation, and an overemphasis on harmony at the expense of authenticity. This period has invited reflection on relationships, balance, and fairness, urging a shift from external approval to internal alignment. It’s been about unraveling patterns of avoiding conflict, over compromising, or losing individuality in partnerships. Collectively, this transit has sparked conversations around justice, fairness, and equality while also showing where outdated relationship dynamics, social structures, or cultural norms need to be rebalanced or let go.
North Node Pisces South Node Virgo energy
The collective shift of the destiny nodes affects everyone, highlighting universal themes of growth and release, but if these energies strongly align with your personal chart as I’ve said earlier—particularly your Sun, Moon, or Rising sign—you essentially become an astrological main character during this time. The areas of life these nodes touch for you feel magnified, calling for greater awareness and evolution. You may find yourself at the center of significant events, relationships, or inner transformations that mirror the collective themes, pushing you to grow in alignment with the current cosmic direction.
This influence brings opportunities for profound personal growth, but it also challenges you to release patterns that no longer serve your highest potential. Whether it’s stepping into leadership, letting go of old dynamics, or embracing your authentic self, your journey becomes a reflection of the greater collective shift, positioning you as an embodiment of the energies the world is being called to integrate.
What the shift to Pisces in the North Node means
The Pisces North Node and Virgo South Node represent a collective shift from striving for control, structure, and perfection toward embracing surrender, flow, and universal connection. Virgo South Node energy reflects the collective’s overemphasis on logic, productivity, and the need to categorise and fix everything. These traits, while valuable in their own right, can lead to burnout, hypercriticism, and a sense of disconnection from the bigger picture. As a society, this energy highlights the systems, routines, and detail-oriented mindsets that no longer serve our growth, urging us to release the illusion that we can control every aspect of life.
With the Pisces North Node, the collective is being called to trust in the unseen, cultivate compassion, and open up to spiritual and creative dimensions of life. Pisces energy asks us to let go of rigid boundaries and tap into intuition, imagination, and the wisdom of interconnectedness. This shift prioritises emotional healing, empathy, and the ability to see beyond differences, inspiring collective efforts that foster unity and deeper understanding. It’s an invitation to soften, surrender to the flow of life, and recognise the sacredness in all things, moving from a place of doing to being.
What will happen future predictions North Node in Pisces
This alignment encourages shifts in areas like mental health, spirituality, and creativity, urging collective progress toward more holistic and intuitive approaches. It might bring about greater acceptance of alternative healing practices, greater focus on emotional well-being, and a heightened appreciation for art and connection. At its highest potential, the Pisces North Node can unite humanity through shared compassion and inspire solutions to global challenges that honor the whole rather than focusing solely on the individual pieces.
I’m excited for the leaning in and emergence of embracing Pisces core elements of arts, romance, and creative expression. We are going to see more emotionally authentic, soul-nourishing forms of art. The arts during this time being mystical, fluid, and intangible. Artists may feel drawn to explore themes of spirituality, dreams, and collective consciousness, leading to a period of artistic reawakening.
North Node in Pisces Art & Creativity
Art will become more of a channel for healing. The collective shift encourages individuals to trust their inner voice and create without overthinking, embracing spontaneous and organic forms of expression. Art, music, dance, and all forms of creativity can serve as a bridge between the material and spiritual worlds. Expect an increase in art that connects with the unseen, celebrates mystery, and invites us to explore the depths of human consciousness and the universe. Symbolism, dream imagery, and abstract forms will gain more significance.
North Node in Pisces Love Dating Relationships Twin Flames Soulmates
What about oooh la la love. On a collective level, relationships and romance will increasingly move toward a spiritual, soulful dimension. The focus will shift from superficial connections toward finding soulmates, twin flames, and deeper emotional bonds. People may feel a longing for relationships that transcend the material and touch the divine.
The Pisces energy encourages us to dream big in love, but there’s also a tendency to idealise or see others through “rose-colored glasses.” Romantic relationships may be seen through a lens of fantasy, and while this can be beautiful, it may also lead to disillusionment. The collective is being asked to find a balance between idealism and reality in love, learning to let go of expectations and embrace love in its most spiritual form.

North Node Pisces South Node Virgo Journaling Prompts Questions
To make this collective shift your own, embracing Pisces energy, I have some journal prompts for you.
Reflect on the last time the North Node was in Pisces (end of June 2006- mid December 2007)—what major shifts or transformations were happening in your life? How did you move through that period, and what lessons did you learn?
What parts of your life are still shaped by Virgo’s need for control, perfectionism, or over-analysis? How can you begin to release those patterns to align more with the flow of life? Identify areas where a rigid, perfectionist approach is still guiding your decisions, and ask yourself if it’s truly serving you. Consider how this focus on precision or control may cause unnecessary stress or exhaustion.
Where do you tend to be overly critical of yourself or others? How can embracing compassion and understanding change your perspective? Acknowledge where harsh judgments, either towards yourself or others, have created distance or frustration. Ask yourself what would shift if you approached these situations with more kindness, forgiveness, and empathy. Practice seeing things from a compassionate perspective, understanding that we all have our flaws and are on our own unique journeys.
How can you create more space for intuition and creativity in your life? What small steps can you take to trust your instincts more deeply? Reflect on moments when you’ve ignored your intuition in favour of logic or practicality.
Reflect on a time when you prioritised your to-do list over your emotional or spiritual needs. What would it look like to balance both, allowing room for rest and nourishment? Think about a period when your focus on work, tasks, or duties left you feeling drained or disconnected from your true self. Consider how integrating time for self-care, rest, and spiritual nourishment could bring more harmony and energy into your life. Balance doesn’t mean perfection—allow yourself to show up for both your responsibilities and your personal well-being.
How does your current routine or approach to work reflect Virgo’s influence? In what areas could you shift towards a more fluid, holistic approach, focusing on the bigger picture? Look at your daily work routine—do you find yourself stuck in repetitive tasks, focusing only on details?
Pisces asks you to embrace surrender—what do you need to release control over in your life right now? How can you practice trusting the process more? Pinpoint areas where you may be clinging to outcomes or over-planning, which could be stifling your growth. Practice letting go of the need for certainty and control, allowing life to unfold with more trust. Surrendering doesn’t mean giving up; it means releasing resistance and opening yourself up to new possibilities.
Reflect on your relationship with spirituality or creativity—how can you bring more of these qualities into your daily life, regardless of external expectations? Think about how you currently nurture your spiritual or creative practices, and where you may feel disconnected or overwhelmed by external demands. Explore how small rituals or creative expressions can be incorporated into your routine, even in simple ways. By honouring your spiritual and creative sides, you can invite more peace and authenticity into your life.
